about

February 24, 2017
I wanted to write a party song; after all of the heaviness of the headlines and life stuff we’d been digging into, I needed lift — I knew we all did. So I sat down and reminisced about the best party I’d been to recently: the Women’s March. It was the first time I felt like I could breathe since the presidential election standing shoulder to shoulder with women around the world like that. I’m honored that the legendary McCrary Sisters joined me on this one.

lyrics

Everybody, everybody all together

Everybody right here now

There isn’t any place in the world I’d rather

Be right now

Everybody, everybody stand together

Everybody stand your ground

Cause I can finally breathe

When we’re shoulder to shoulder

Stand up now

BE RIGHT HERE NOW

Everybody come and take a step together

Everybody, one step now

If you’re feeling lost

Well just remember
You’re here now

Everybody, everybody sing together

Everybody get real loud

When we put our voices all together

We can blow the walls down

BE RIGHT HERE NOW

Everybody, everybody all together

Everybody right here now

Everybody, everybody all together

Be here now

BE RIGHT HERE NOW

BE RIGHT HERE
